At Montessori Acres, gardening and environmental studies cultivate a deep and lasting appreciation for the natural world. Through meaningful, hands-on work in our organic garden, students engage with the full rhythm of the seasons—collecting seeds, propagating plants, weeding, mulching, and harvesting the fruits of their labor.
Students explore the science of soil, transform farm waste and animal bedding into nutrient-rich compost, and participate in hands-on demonstrations of plant cycles. They also learn to identify, cultivate, and steward native plants, developing both ecological knowledge and a sense of responsibility for the land.
Positive, purposeful experiences in nature at an early age foster curiosity, respect, and environmental awareness. At Montessori Acres, these experiences lay the foundation for confident, thoughtful future leaders committed to caring for and safeguarding our planet.
