Founded in 1996, The Montessori Academy of Virginia (MAV) was established to fulfill the growing demand for an authentic Montessori experience in the Hampton Roads region. What began with just three classrooms in a modest rented space, has blossomed into a network of purpose-built campuses in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk, thanks to the unwavering and steadfast support of our families and community.
Today, we proudly offer a genuine, authentic Montessori education that supports and nurtures early childhood development for children ages 16 months through 10+ years (Toddler through 5th Grade). As the largest Montessori institution in the region, our Academy now educates more than 400 students across three thriving campuses.
Our state-of-the-art facilities (each over 10,000 square feet and situated on more than an acre), are thoughtfully designed to embody the core principles of the Montessori method.
